On 13th August 2011 Linda, Chris and Jean loaded up their cars and set off for the Hop Farm, near Paddock Wood.
The first outdoor bootfair of the season was at Mabledon Farm in Tonbridge and raised £146. It was lovely that trustee Tina, who was visiting from Scotland, was able to join us and help with setting up the stalls and selling the goods.
Sunday 6th February saw us rising early for another bootfair.
The days leading up to the bootfair were rainy, windy and a little cool, so we were relieved to wake up to sun shining from a blue sky. The good weather brought out many people and the ALC was able to raise £152 throughout the afternoon.
Now the cooler October mornings are here, we decided to return to the slightly more comfortable surroundings of the Capel Community Centre for an "indoor" bootfair.
The trustees of the Aquinoe Learning Centre Charitable Trust were delighted to accept an invitation to set up a stall in the grounds of Barnardo's Meadows School in Southborough on 25th June.
The last indoor bootfair raised the highest total of the season - an excellent £103.10.
The Community Centre at Five Oak Green has been the venue for several indoor bootfairs again this autumn and winter but 12th December was the first date Linda and Jean were both free.
Sunday 11th July was the date for a Gala Day and Car Boot Fair in the Perthshire town of Crieff. Tina took various items donated by friends to sell for Aquinoe. Weather was mixed, rather drizzly in the morning, but then the wind took over in the afternoon – blowing the clouds away, but also nearly wrecking some of the stalls!!
