We’d all attended quizzes as competitors, but this was the first time we had actually planned and run one ourselves. The preparation was very time-consuming, as we wanted some innovative and varied rounds, rather than taking all of the questions from the Internet. There was also a fine line between making the questions hard enough to be challenging, but not so hard as to be discouraging.
The event was held at the Pembury Hospital Sports and Social Club in November, and we were delighted to welcome thirteen teams.
The whole evening was a great success and, apart from the quiz itself, we ran a raffle with lots of prizes, and also auctioned some VIP theatre tickets.
We made £712, a wonderful achievement for the charity, thanks to the encouragement and support of our friends and colleagues, without whom none of it would have been possible.
