Jean, Linda and Chris (Linda’s husband) took two car loads of items to Edenbridge for the last bootfair of the season. The weather was lovely, but the number of bargain-hunters was lower than normal, so the amount of sales was reduced. Even so, they made £86 for the ALC and had an enjoyable afternoon, so were pleased with the result.
Happy they’ve got lots to sell!
On their previous appearance at Edenbridge they had met Mr. H.W. Atkins, a local businessman, who also has an interest in a school in Kenya. On his visits to Kenya in the past he has taken a series of A4 charts showing a variety of letters and numbers to put up on the wall. He joined them at the bootfair again and gave them a copy of all of his material, which they will laminate before sending them to the ALC. The trustees thank him for his generous gift.
