We were fortunate that the day was fine, sunny and hot. This was great as we didn’t have to contend with wet grass underfoot and under cardboard box, or the wind blowing down clothes stands. It also brought many bargain hunters to Longfield Road, so sales were good and we made £160 for Aquinoe.
At the last bootfair we had met a delightful Kenyan couple who bought several of our Kenyan items. We met them again, this time with their daughter, who says she would like to help the charity.
Another familiar face was that of Mr Atkins, who had printed educational wall charts for the school last year. He kindly offered to make more, for which we are very grateful.
Towards the end of the morning, a couple donated bags of books and clothes to us, so we returned with very full cars, despite having sold a large number of items! This will give us new stock for the next bootfair.
