Jean and Linda travelled down to Alton in Hampshire to talk to a group of lads in the 2nd Alton Boys Brigade, aged between six and eleven. They had a slide show to give the boys an idea of what the school is like and why the trustees want to help improve the situation for the children at the school.
They took along photos to hand round, examples of bags, baskets, jewellery, typical brightly coloured material, a mosquito net, Kenyan money and a couple of bowls and jug to show how the staff and children might have a shower without piped water. The boys were shown how any money raised by them would buy so much more in Kenya than it could purchase in the UK.
The boys behaved beautifully, were interested in Aquinoe and conditions there and asked many questions.
They will be taking part in a “sponsored read” and coffee morning to raise money for the charity.
