Rachel at her Desk
Some of the books we’ve dealt with today are absolutely lovely, thanks to several publishers in the UK who have generously donated many books. Children have been popping in all day and are keen to borrow books as soon as they can. We felt really mean saying they will have to wait until operations have been completed.Rachel, who used to work in the house for Josphat, and whom I first met in 2004, is a good friend. She has now been promoted and works in the school office and we are delighted for her.
Lunch today was a rather delicious bean and whole banana stew with rice – different from what we’ve eaten before and really yummy!
At break times and after school, it’s really good to hear the children in the “yards” playing a variety of games. Today some girls was playing with a long skipping rope, two of them holding the ends, while three or four jumped over the turning rope in the centre.
