Kenya Comfort HotelWe touched down at Jomo Kenyatta Airport half an hour early after a reasonable flight but little sleep.  Tina and I thought the hotel might not be able to check us in, so had no hesitation in searching the enormousl array  of airport shops for a Kenya sim card for my phone and a dongle for the laptop.  Having found a suitable Safaricom business we started shopping and were still shopping thirty minutes later, while a crowd of other potential customers built up behind, eventually becoming a little restless.

We’re in the Kenya Comfort Hotel, which is something of  a misnomer as it’s very basic, but it’ll be alright for two days.

We spent part of the afternoon in a kind of craftsmen’s co-operative, where loads of necklaces, earrings, bracelet, animal carvings, bowls etc had been/were being made.   The guys, especially Eddy, Isaac and George were very friendly and perhaps we might have spent a little more than planned, but we felt they were very genuine and deserved the custom.  When the rain came teeming down, as we were about to leave, Isaac even called us a cab and paid the driver.
