Making our first trip to The Aquinoe Learning Centre in Kenya has been a source of great excitement which we shared with all our friends and family.  We wanted to take useful and much needed items to the school and amongst our donations we received a wonderful bag of sports equipment from the Tunbridge Wells Schools Sports Partnership.

First the Partnership donated an enormous sports bag in bright red which was decorated with flags and sports emblems which they then filled with badminton racquets, shuttlecocks, table tennis bats, a cricket set and a golf set and the most wonderful “parachute” for the children to use to play other games.  There were all sorts of balls and bean bags and it was a “Christmas stocking” of delight for the children who have so very little.

The equipment was received with incredible excitement; fortunately Tina knew the rules of cricket well enough to write them down and for them to be understood and since this was the rainy season, the cricket equipment was initially set up in the long passageway of the Resource Centre and the children were introduced to their first game in a practice “net”

The “parachute” was opened and demonstrated and we know that the children will have a lot of fun with that since so many can be included at one time.

We want to say a huge thank you to the Tunbridge Wells Schools Sports Partnership for its amazing contribution to the school.  The equipment will be very well used indeed.
