Every year, at the beginning of November, parents of the Class Eight pupils are invited to come to many of the schools in Kenya. This year forty two parents attended.
The prayer day is a tradition at Aquinoe for parents whose children are taking the national examinations in the coming weeks. The exams will determine which secondary school the pupils will move on to in the following year.

Speeches followed and the class teachers commented on the candidates, how they were prepared for the examinations, any disciplinary problems, and the cooperation between the parents and teachers during the course of the year.
The Headteacher, the Director and the District Education Officer also spoke, followed by two parents who were appointed to talk on behalf of the rest.
The church minister concluded with Bible readings and prayers for the children.
