Jean and Linda drove down to Dorset to visit the Coopers on Friday 27th January. This family travelled for several months in Southern Africa in 2011, visiting several locations, including the Aquinoe Learning Centre, and distributing items which had been donated in the UK.
The Coopers were hosting a wine and cheese party that evening at Hooke Court (the residential study centre which they run) for local people who had supported the venture and all were very friendly.
Mandy Cooper gave a summary of the route taken on the trip and showed it all on a large map. Pete Cooper had selected some of the many photos and showed them on a projector screen, while Mandy gave a commentary. Jean was then invited to give a little talk – basically thanking the Coopers and saying a little about Aquinoe and the help given to the school.
The trip sounded fantastic and must have been a wonderful opportunity for all, including the children of the family. Some of the situations in which they found themselves were very moving indeed. What a wonderful family and we are truly grateful for their generosity at Aquinoe.
