Over £120 from FOG bootfair

The weather in the week prior to the bootfair was very suspect, with cool temperatures, buckets of rain and a substantial wind.  We therefore left confirmation as to whether we would go ahead with th ebootfair at Five Oak Green until the morning – Saturday 23rd June.

In fact, we had no more than a handful of rain drops and the wind, while greater than we’d have liked, was not a big problem.  It did mean that we decided against putting up clothes rails, though, as these can be blown over.  We put out a couple of bags of adult clothes and two cases of children’s clothes on the grass and these sold well so we will hope for better weather at our next fair to maximise takings for clothes.

There were lots of sellers and crowds of buyers too, so there was a constant stream of people checking out the goods on our stall.  We didn’t have any large items, and most of the sales were for 20p or 50p, so we were delighted to make a total of £123.20.
